  • Arrive With Clean Lashes. Skip Mascara, Eyeliner & Eye Makeup, & Avoid Heavy Facial Oils, Lotions, or Sunscreen Near the Eye Area. Oil Residue Can Interfere With How Well the Adhesive Bonds.
  • Consider Skipping Contacts. Some Clients Find It More Comfortable to Wear Glasses to Their Appointment, or Bring a Case in Case They'd Rather Remove Contacts Beforehand.
  • Plan for the Full Appointment Window. A Full Set Is Not a Quick Errand — Budget the Full 2 to 2.5 Hours So You're Not Watching the Clock.
  • Mention Any Sensitivities When You Book. If You Have Known Sensitivities to Adhesives, Latex, or Have Sensitive Eyes in General, Let Your Lash Artist Know Ahead of Time.

Talking Through Your Look

Before Any Extensions Go On, Your Lash Artist Will Talk With You About the Look You Want, Take a Look at Your Natural Lash Length, Density & Health, & Consider Your Eye Shape. This Is the Point to Speak Up About What You're Picturing — Softer & More Natural, or Fuller & More Dramatic. Reference Photos Are Genuinely Useful Here, Even if They're Not a Perfect Match for Your Eyes; They Help Communicate the Vibe You're Going For.

From There, Your Artist Will Recommend a Style, Curl & Length That Suits Both Your Natural Lashes & Your Desired Look — Rather Than Applying a One-Size-Fits-All Set.

The Application Process

Once You've Talked Through Your Look, You'll Lie Back & Get Comfortable — Most Treatment Beds Are Padded, & Many Studios Offer a Blanket. Your Eyes Will Be Closed for the Entire Appointment, With Under-Eye Pads or Tape Gently Protecting Your Lower Lashes.

Using Fine-Tipped Tweezers, Your Lash Artist Isolates One Natural Lash at a Time & Applies a Single Extension (or a Lightweight Fan, for Hybrid & Volume Sets) With a Small Amount of Adhesive, Close to — but Not Touching — Your Skin or Lash Line. This Is Repeated Across Both Eyes Until the Full Set Is Complete, Which Is Why the Appointment Takes a Couple of Hours: It's a Slow, Detail-Oriented Process by Nature.

What It Feels Like

Most Clients Describe the Process as Relaxing Rather Than Uncomfortable. You May Notice a Faint Smell From the Adhesive, & It's Normal to Feel a Light Sensation of Tweezers Near Your Lash Line — but You Should Not Feel Pinching, Burning, or Sharp Discomfort. If You Do, Tell Your Lash Artist Right Away.

Right After Your Appointment

Once Your Set Is Finished, Your Lash Artist Will Typically Walk You Through Basic Aftercare Before You Leave. As a General Guideline, Most Studios Recommend Avoiding Water, Steam & Sweat on Your Lashes for the First 24 Hours or So While the Adhesive Fully Cures, & Avoiding Oil-Based Makeup Removers or Skincare Near the Lash Line Going Forward. Since Specifics Can Vary Slightly by Studio & Adhesive, Always Follow the Exact Instructions Your Lash Artist Gives You.

Your Lashes Will Look Full & Finished Right Away — There's No Downtime or "Settling In" Period the Way There Might Be With Some Other Beauty Treatments. You Can Go Straight Back to Your Day.
